For my Earth-Moon-Earth moonbounce project, I am building a high power 1 kW 2.4 GHz transmitter. For this, I needed to build a means to test the high voltage 2 kV power supply which will power the transmitter (a microwave oven magnetron). Howdy folks! I’m currently in the process of updating my website with all of the projects I have done so far (the few that I have documented and taken pictures of, at least). The first is a project I started during the summer of 2016, which is completing my great-grandfather’s metal lathe that he began building back in 1914-1915 or so, but was never completed. After more than a century of this machine collecting dust, I have decided to put a motor on and turn it into a functioning machine tool. I’m still making improvements to it when I have time to do so.
