20 kV Voltage Divider

20 kV Voltage Divider

For my Earth-Moon-Earth moonbounce project, I am building a high power 1 kW 2.4 GHz transmitter. For this, I needed to build a means to test the high voltage 2 kV power supply which will power the transmitter (a microwave oven magnetron). To that end, I built a voltage divider with some surplus parts for less than $20. Read more here: 20 kV Voltage Divider
1915 Metal Lathe Restoration

1915 Metal Lathe Restoration

Howdy folks! I’m currently in the process of updating my website with all of the projects I have done so far (the few that I have documented and taken pictures of, at least). The first is a project I started during the summer of 2016, which is completing my great-grandfather’s metal lathe that he began building back in 1914-1915 or so, but was never completed. After more than a century of this machine collecting dust, I have decided to put a motor on and turn it into a functioning machine tool. I’m still making improvements to it when I have time to do so. Enjoy! http://www.crblackwood.com/1915-stivers-metal-lathe-restoration

Welcome to www.crblackwood.com!

Hey folks, It is with great excitement that I present to you crblackwood.com. I hope you will find that the projects and documents here are interesting and helpful in allowing you to complete your own projects. My goal here is to inspire others to try their hand at experimenting and building, not only with electronics but also with woodworking, metalworking, chemistry, and physics. Please enjoy!
